7 Tips to Survive Longer in Endless Runner Games
Published October 2026 · Temple Dash Team
Endless runners look simple, but the players who reach huge scores all share a few habits. These seven tips work in Temple Dash and in almost any runner you play on a phone or computer.
1. Look far ahead, not at your character
Your eyes should rest near the top third of the track. Obstacles appear small and distant, which gives you time to plan the next two moves instead of reacting at the last moment.
2. Do not jump early
A jump is a commitment. If you leave the ground too soon you will land before the obstacle ends. Wait until the block is close, then jump once and land cleanly.
3. Pick a calm lane
Constant lane switching makes mistakes likely. Stay in the middle lane when the track is empty, because from there every other lane is only one move away.
4. Use slides and jumps as a pair
Low blocks need a jump and high beams need a slide. Learn to read the shape of an obstacle in a split second, and your hands will start moving on their own.
5. Collect coins only when it is safe
A line of coins is tempting, but a crash costs far more points than a missed coin. Treat coins as a bonus, never as a reason to take a risk.
6. Play in short sessions
Focus drops after ten or fifteen minutes. Short rounds with a small break keep your reactions sharp and make the game more fun.
7. Learn the rhythm of speed
As the game gets faster, the gaps between obstacles shrink. Instead of panicking, breathe and tap in a steady rhythm. Smooth inputs beat fast inputs almost every time.
Try these tips in your next run of Temple Dash. Even one of them can add a surprising number of points to your best score.
